R.N. Scipione Africano 1:400
singulair.serwis |
Here I am again with my current project. This time it's a cruiser of the Italian Navy. R.N. Scipione Africano. The model is the GPM in scale 1:200, converted into 1:400.
The Hull.
Marco

Nice. Good start And... my favourite 1/400 scale!
viltianus Thanks to follow me! it is an honor for me, I saw all your models and I greatly admire your incredible skills.
Progress with the superstructure
Marco

Go, Marco, go! I like Italian ships. Fragile beauties.
viltianus You are absolutely right. Ships beautiful but disastrous to the facts.
Added the railings on the first bridge. Railings for this is the hardest part because there are islands of guns. Also for the first time I have to do with railings with three strings and I have to admit that with my method is much more stable than two strings.
Marco

Today great progress since I was at home for lack of work. Added to the second bridge railing, various details and pasted positioned on the third deck. Started building the first stack.
Marco

Nice railings! Hand made
viltianus I am really satisfied with these railings and above are very easy to reproduce in series.
the first stack completed.
Marco

Easy? Yes, I know. But I'm very lazy woman, so I use photo-etched railings
Sometimes I happen also to me to be lazy .
The turret A.
Marco

Nice
Marco, do ankle of white soap lie at chimney?
Chimney as well as whole model first class. Well done
I know it's tic-tac.

Thanks viltianus
Stefan I had not thought of the color of the chimneys. You're right, I think that with every trip they went to clean the chimney
Finished the basic structure of the superstructure of the command. Now we start with the small details.
Marco

Started work on the bow.
Marco

Hi marco1971, There are no only viltianus (or Catherine if you prefer ) and Stefan who observe your nice job . Scipione Africano belonged to a very interesting warships' class in the Italian Navy. On the other hand the Italian warships had very good design, in brief they were nice. BTW - this influence was good visible in the Soviet Navy warship designs after delivery of Tashkent flotilla leader. A model scale is such as I also prefere ( viltianus is a new moderator in this forum's section and I should do it, i.e agreed with opinions of my boss ). I wait for a final effect of your work. Go ahead and good luck
Hello marco1971 As I said, I'm not a specialist in this area (ships, battleships, warship or other floatable vehicle) but I take a look at effects of your work with pleasure Good job Best regards. Tomek
Tender, Tomek thanks. thanks a lot, I'm very glad you like this model, I hope to maintain a high level of detail for the next updates. Today I almost finished all of the bow up to the main deck, takes me longer to do the little details of this vessel to do the rest. I also installed rails so that part of the ship did not always have to take in hand.
Marco

Hello everyone,
Finished all the details of the superstructure and that the main mast. Above the mast there is the radar .
Marco

Nice to see You here Marco! Italian ships has really interesting camouflages Good job with railngs!
Many thanks, I can not wait to see your finished model.
Marco
Marco - and I can't wait to see YOUR
viltianus you are right
Continue the construction of the ship with the core structure that supports the second funnel. In addition to the chimney, will the four positions of the anti-aircraft guns and two lighthouses.
Marco

Marco, this is a very nice, clear and accuracy work; it's the pleasure to look at. Two "technical" questions regarding details because there is a source of practicable knowledge: bars around funnels upper parts are made of what? Are they fastened to the funnel shell only by bonding "to contact" only or there are openings in shell for small perpendiculars bars.
BTW - do you know this item of Polish card model publishing house JSC? http://store.jsc.pl/show.php?g=59&p=059
Greetings
tender thanks, your comments motivate me.
The bars around funnels upper parts are made of tiny copper wire 0,3mm and Are they fastened to the funnel shell only by bonding "to contact". regarding the model of the JSC, of course, I know him and also I have it in possession. But I chose the model of the GPM because with more details.
Marco
After a week's absence here I am with the lifeboats of Scipione.
Marco

The crane completed.
Marco

Beautiful model, great details about the lift not to mention. A few years ago sklejałem Vittorio Venetto but went tragically and was "scrapped". Congratulations on good craftsmanship in hand. Fan of Yours and more.
Stefan thanks for your compliments. The crane after all the experience accumulated in Kashima and Hosho came with no particular problems.
Today I finished the structure behind the second chimney that bears the telemeter, to the aft guns. Also added the boats.
Marco

No comments but "the humanity" observes your work .
Tender thanks!
The anti-aircraft batteries in position.
Marco

Maybe you have remarqued it already - the connection between the deck and the side shell in way of most aft deckhouse (i.e. this below the gun turret) isn't correct - it needs some glue more. Photos done in macro mode are merciless . (BTW - for this reason I made my photos from a little bit greater distance explaining that my camera makes them out of focus at very short distances in the macro mode ). Moreover - very nice.
I like your work mate. Regards
Very nice work. I like cranes and other details.
Thanks friends for your compliments!
After a long pause I resume the model by adding the turret D, glued the rest of the superstructure and started to make small details. Also finished the 20mm cannons.
Marco

Very nicely out the model of you I'm impressed. Between the superstructure and the third tower, hidden cameras torpedo - yes? Question secular but do not know the ship.
Thanks Stefan, yes between the superstructure and the third tower there is the hidden cameras torpedo

Marco
Unfortunately I'm not in this forum for a long time and I fear that my absence will be prolonged for a long time, at least until I manage to finish the renovation of the house that I bought. Updating with a little stern.
Marco

Finally after long months troubled I finished this beautiful ship. Here are some pictures of the final result.
Marco

Nice to see your work again at the forum. Indeed, very nice, smart ship as a real vessel and the beautiful model - a lot of good work. Congratulations and what's the next?
